Originally opened on Derby Day in 1935 and reopened to the public in 2014, the Stitzel-Weller Distillery is one of the true cathedrals of the American whiskey industry. Located only five miles from downtown Louisville, the Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Experience is one of the most convenient and impressive along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

We provide a one-of-a-kind experience in the time-honored craft of distilling. The Epicenter has something for everyone with a passion for the craft on both the science and art side of distilling. From Moonshine University, where visitors learn how to build, open, and run their own distilleries, to our fully-equipped distillery, which when not in use for classes, is available to develop mash bills, create prototype batches, experiment with processing, or for full run productions.

The Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse visitor center delivers the Jim Beam® distillery experience in the heart of Louisville. It includes a small working distillery, a bottling line, a tasting experience and merchandise for sale.

In 1999, the Kentucky Distillers’ Association formed the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® tour to give visitors a firsthand look at the art and science of crafting Bourbon, and to educate them about the rich history and proud tradition of our signature spirit.

Our family’s very first bourbon went into barrel in 1889. We revived the craft in our own state-of-the-art distillery, where we use the finest ingredients. We believe that patience builds character & fine bourbon can never be rushed. All under one roof, the select Kentucky Peerless grains are milled, cooked, fermented, double-distilled, and barreled as bourbon & rye.
